Noyo Center for Marine Science

Want to see an orca skeleton? Go (virtual) swimming underwater in a geometric dome? Learn more about our kelp forests and marine mammals? The Noyo Center for Marine Science recently opened up a storefront in downtown Fort Bragg, and it’s the place where all your underwater dreams can come true!

Inside their discovery center, you can find interactive exhibits, a gift shop, and the largest killer whale skeleton in the world!

But that’s not all… if you’re out for a walk on the Fort Bragg Coastal Trail, the Noyo Center has a second exhibit called the Crow’s Nest! You’ll find more skeletons, science and even a tidepool aquarium with local creatures.

The Noyo Center is also the main defender of our kelp forests along the Northern California Coast, creating the Help the Kelp campaign in 2018. This campaign brings together recreational and commercial divers to help balance out our local underwater ecosystems by removing excess purple urchins. Learn more about this project on their website, or by stopping by their Discovery Center or the Crow’s Nest on the Coastal Trail!
