Harold Hauck, Emeritus Director
Harold Hauck became a volunteer docent at Point Cabrillo in 1995. He was part of the team that restored the 3rd order Fresnel lens. He joined the North Coast Interpretative Association’s Board of Directors in 1999. Harold was a member of the NCIA team that negotiated the transfer of the Point Cabrillo Light Station from California Coastal Conservancy ownership to California State Parks in 2001. He was a founding member of the Point Cabrillo Lightkeepers Association and served as the PCLK President from 2002 until 2007, He was PCLK’s Treasurer from 2008 through 2016 and resumed that position from 2018 through 2020.
Harold is a retired member and past Commander of Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 87, the volunteer organization responsible for maintaining the Point Cabrillo Light Station’s lantern room and Fresnel lens. He is the current Treasurer and a Past President of the Mendocino Rotary Club. Harold also is Treasurer of the Big River Vista Mutual Water Company, and he is currently a board member of the Mendocino City Community Services District.
Harold retired from IBM in 1991 where he was employed as a computer systems engineer. He subsequently owned and operated a computer consulting business. He is a US Navy Korean War Veteran and has a BS degree from the University of San Francisco. He is married and the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren.
