Let’s build a barn!
The Point Cabrillo Lightkeepers Association has started the permit process to rebuild the 1909 Historic Barn, and you can be a part of this extraordinary project through our annual Maintenance Raffle!
The barn originally stood from 1909 – 1981, when it was burned by the Mendocino Volunteer Fire Department as part of a demonstration fire exercise. Rebuilding the Historic Barn will bring Point Cabrillo Light Station State Historic Park closer to its original 1909 footprint. In addition, it will provide an indoor space on the property for field trips, meetings and events that would further our mission to manage, protect, restore, interpret, and provide public access to this historic park.

You can help! Reconstructing the Historic Barn will take much more than pouring concrete and buying lumber. While we’ve secured the most important step with State Parks signing off on the application, the permitting process is expensive. Our next step is submitting the Coastal Development Permit, thanks to the expertise of PCLK Board Member Samantha Greenlee. The raffle included in this mailing will help pay for that application. In the meantime, PCLK continues our usual maintenance and interpretation activities, including painting the roofs of the lightkeepers’ houses and re-opening the Kearn Family Farmhouse Visitor Center!
This year, every raffle ticket dollar will go directly into the reconstruction of the Historic Barn at Point Cabrillo. With your purchase of a raffle ticket, you will help pay for required studies and permits and YOU might just win an irresistible prize.

Purchasing one $10 ticket pays for the printing of required documents, and gives you one chance to win. $50 pays for research and gives you ten chances! With your $100 purchase, you’ll get 25 chances to win, and $200 gives you 50 chances! Each purchase helps provide public access and maintain history for future generations.

1 ticket for $10 • 10 tickets for $50

Grand Prize
One five-night (Sunday-Thursday consecutive, non-holiday) stay for up to 8
at the Head Lightkeeper’s House at Point Cabrillo Light Station.

First Prize
One three-night (weekday consecutive, non-holiday) stay for up to 6
at the Second Assistant Lightkeeper’s House at Point Cabrillo Light Station.

Second Prize

in one of the cottages at Point Cabrillo Light Station.
