June Events at Point Cabrillo Light Station

June 2022 marks 113 years since Point Cabrillo Lighthouse was lit for the first time!

This month, the Point Cabrillo Lightkeepers Association is celebrating that anniversary by offering a few fun events, put on by our incredible team of volunteers.

Plant Walk with CNPS

Saturday, June 25
10am – Noon

Join the Point Cabrillo Lightkeepers Association and California Native Plant Society for a plant walk this Saturday! The walk will be led by local botanist Rhiannon Korhummel, and will wind along trails through the 300 acres of Point Cabrillo Light Station State Historic Park over the course of 1-2 hours.

Learn how to identify native and invasive plants of the Mendocino Coast, and enjoy a leisurely 2-3 mile walk in one of the unique parks of this special coastline.

You are welcome to visit Point Cabrillo’s museums, exhibits and gift shop, which are open to the public every day of the year from 11am-4pm, staffed by volunteer docents available to answer questions and share history.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes, dress in layers, bring your own water and snacks, and don’t forget your camera!
