Scott Vorhees, Past Treasurer
Scott first discovered the Mendocino Coast back in 1988 when a friend in Sacramento recommended the area as a vacation get-away. Immediately smitten by the beautiful vistas and the relaxed feeling of the community, he and his partner followed-up that first trip with an annual visit for the next 10 years. Then in 1998, they made the Mendocino Coast their permanent home.
Scott and his partner, Ben, were so taken by the beauty and magnificence of the light station at Point Cabrillo, that they decided this would be the spot for their wedding in 2008. Having the honor of being the first wedding to be conducted at the site since the establishment of PCLK has continued to be status they hold very dearly.
Scott comes from Sacramento with 16 years of experience in non-profit management including membership development, fiscal administration, data management, grantmanship activities, fund development, and general operations. Since arriving at the Mendocino Coast, he has managed an optometry practice for 13 years and now manages a real estate brokerage and serves as a REALTOR® in the area.
Scott is well-known throughout the area for voluntary efforts for all types of needs in the community and is always ready to lend a hand. He is delighted to include PCLK as a new voluntary mission in his life.
