Ongoing Maintenance at Point Cabrillo
New visitors to Point Cabrillo often comment that they’ve never seen a park so well-maintained, or a historic lighthouse in such excellent condition.
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: the reason that Point Cabrillo looks the way it does is because of our incredible supporters. Even though Point Cabrillo Light Station is a California State Historic Park, the ongoing maintenance, education, restoration projects and interpretive displays are handled by our nonprofit, the Point Cabrillo Lightkeepers Association (PCLK).
California State Parks handles trail management, bathroom maintenance, water treatment and law enforcement, but every other expense at Point Cabrillo is handled by PCLK, through the funds that come in from our donors, sales in the gift shop and income from the vacation rentals. This park is beautiful because of YOU.
To ensure this national treasure for current and future generations, the mission of the Point Cabrillo Lightkeepers Association is to manage, protect, restore, interpret, and provide public access to Point Cabrillo Light Station State Historic Park.
Over the past 22 years, PCLK has restored, maintained and advocated for this place. Your donations have gone into paint and permits, renovations and restoration, lumber and light bulbs, and so much more. As we move forward with rebuilding the barn, updating interpretive displays, and reckoning with the complexities of a historic Fresnel lens, we thank you again for your ongoing support of Point Cabrillo Light Station.
The raffle is open once again! Purchasing a $10 raffle ticket will give you one chance to win a vacation at Point Cabrillo, and helps PCLK print museum displays. If you want an even better chance at winning, $500 gets you 150 entries into our raffle, and you will help us pay for lumber to rebuild our historic barn!

Grand Prize
One four-night (non-holiday) stay for up to 8 people
at the Head Lightkeeper’s House at Point Cabrillo Light Station.
Second Prize
One three-night (non-holiday) stay for up to 6 people
at the Second Assistant Lightkeeper’s House at Point Cabrillo Light Station.
Third Prize
One three-night (non-holiday) stay for 2 people
in one of the cottages at Point Cabrillo Light Station.
Raffle closes on December 31, 2024.
Winners will be drawn and notified in early January.
